Question (1): Now that I have ordered my lace wig, what do I do when it arrives?
a.) Remove you high quality ShopLW.com lace wig from its packaging.
b. ) Inspect the wig carefully to ensure that it is the correct color, etc.
Optional: Apply a thin line of a fray blocker (ex: Fray Block ). Allow to dry and use small manicure scissors to cut away the excess lace.
Optional: Once dry, to increase the longevity of your ShopLaceWigs.com lace wig you may spray a light mist of knot sealer and allow to dry.
c.) Once satisfied, wash your lace wig on a styrofoam wig head (to prevent from tearing the lace) under a faucet with cool water with diluted shampoo (ex: Dove, Pantene or Paul Mitchell), rinse.
Finally, condition with complementary conditioner (ex: Dove conditioner) and rinse again.
Keep in mind that your ShopLaceWigs.com lace wig is made of 100% Indian or Asian Remy hair. Use shampoos and conditioners created for this type of hair only.
You may then style your wig and/or allow the lace wig to air dry.
4.) Prepare your own hair as necessary (ex: Wrap, cornrow, wig cap) and have a professional complete the application process using your preferred form of adhesive. (ex: clips, tape, Spirit Gum, Ultra Hold, Vapon No Tape, etc)
Question (2): Should I always wash my lace wig on a wig head? If you are new to wearing lace wigs YES! This will help prevent tears in the lace. Also, when combing - use a wide tooth comb with rounded edges. Always comb from end to root - not root to end.
Question (3): I heard the bleaching my knots myself can cause shedding over time. What can I do to minimize the appearance of knots? Options: Purchase a high quality ShopLW.com lace wig with bleached knots or purchase a high quality ShopLW.com lace wig with undetectable Swiss lace or use a makeup brush and a liquid foundation that matches your skin tone (ex: Revlon Colorstay ) and gently brush small amount of makeup onto the underside of your wig - directly onto the knots. Use a dry cloth to gently blot away any excess makeup on the lace. Seal using a light mist of knot sealer.
